BIOGRAPHY

​

Ryan joined Kennaday Leavitt in 2021 as a senior associate.  He focuses his practice on representing health care entities in various matters including payor-provider disputes, regulatory compliance, enforcement, licensing, and contractual matters. 

 

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in managerial economics from the University of California, Davis.  He went on to attend Whittier Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate with a business law concentration, and graduated cum laude.  While in law school, Ryan earned two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grades in his transactional legal writing and alternative dispute resolution courses. 

 

Ryan began his legal career with a Sacramento insurance defense law firm, where he learned all aspects of civil litigation.  He represented defendants in employment, personal injury, and professional malpractice cases in both state and federal court.  Prior to joining Kennaday Leavitt, Ryan worked for the State of California where he continued to perfect his litigation skills on a wide variety of cases in state and federal court.  Ryan also learned to litigate administrative disputes and successfully defended the State of California in dozens of administrative hearing matters, saving the state millions of dollars in the process.  In addition to managing his own caseload, Ryan oversaw the work of several other state attorneys. 

 

Ryan is admitted in all state courts in California and the Eastern and Northern District Courts of California.
