Kennaday Leavitt Partners Deliver Medi-Cal Presentation at California Association of Health Plans Se

Kennaday Leavitt partners Curtis Leavitt and Jim Novello were recently invited to present at the California Association of Health Plans’ one-day seminar concerning the continuing evolution of California’s Medi-Cal program. Each year, the California Association of Health Plans offers in-depth seminars on relevant topics and timely issues concerning the health plan and health insurer industry. Most recently, that seminar delved into the new state and federal changes being implemented to the federal Medicaid program.
Mr. Leavitt and Mr. Novello provided in-depth analysis and technical insight into CMS’s recently enacted Medicaid “Mega-Reg.” The Mega-Reg, which provides states with flexibility to develop value-based purchasing models, delivery system reform initiatives, and provider reimbursement requirements in their contracts with health plans, creates both opportunities and challenges to California’s Medi-Cal program. Providing both legal and industry experience, the presentation focused on how Medi-Cal managed care plans must meet the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.
The presentation was enthusiastically received, and both partners have been invited to give a similar presentation to the management and executive leadership at several of California’s leading Medi-Cal managed care plans. If your company would like Kennaday Leavitt to provide an in-depth overview of the Medicaid Mega-Reg to your executive leadership and operations managers, contact Curtis Leavitt at cleavitt@kennadayleavitt.com.
